WAITING RIVER tells the story of how one man's guilt permeates his entire existence in such a way that he lives as if he's already dead. Waki cannot relinquish his past. Simultaneously, the film acts as simple ghost story about two sisters, Matsukaze/"Pining Wind" and Murasame/"Sudden Rain", who perpetually await the return of their lover, Jack. "Waiting River" is about the inevitability of desire.. and how it most often keeps us from living in the present moment.
