It's the last day of WWII. Shortly after their driver is killed by a sniper, three American minesweepers stumble upon the killer in a forest clearing. The German has ensnared himself in a tripwire--one false move would be his last. Immobilized, the sniper is now at the mercy of the soldiers. One wants to kill him and another wants to leave him to his fate. The soldiers face the hardest choice of their lives. Do they obey the dictates of peace or do they follow the grim logic of revenge?
