Synopsis
The theme basically concerns women artists' limitations and struggles, based on the Virgine Woolfe riddle, "If Tolstoi had been born a woman..."Bio: Rae Allen's experience includes considerable as a stage director, including serving as artistic director for a regional legit theatre in Springfield, MA. She has directed at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis; at Ford's Theatre and the Long Beach Theatre Festival in California; and directed Tammy Grimes, Lee Richardson and Marybeth Hurt in "Father's Day" in New York. As an actress, Ms. Allen won a Tony Award for her role in "And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little." She also directed for PBS a two-hour version of her adaptaion of "A Christmas Carol."
