The trials and tribulations of a young Chinese immigrant couple as they struggle to succeed and adjust to life in the United States. When the woman arrives after a long separation to join her husband, she discovers that he has not been as successful as he had led her to believe. She, in turn, deceives him about the job she gets. The deceit leads to problems which are only resoved by their mutual honesty.
