The Funeral is a satiric, black story about coming to terms with greed and the burlesque within your own family and yourself. It reveals the true faces and relations of people bound together by blood only. The story takes place throughtout a funeral ceremony. It parallels in many ways the story of Christ's resurrection, here implied through the reverend's speech.
