Synopsis
Ricky, a light-skinned Afro-Latino teen, struggles with the expectations of his elite family while pursuing Samara, a darker-skinned Afro-Latina. The whole world joins in when they dance except for Ricky’s traditional, appearance-obsessed Abuela. When Ricky invites Samara over to meet his family and doesn’t defend Samara against his Abuela, the two break up. At the anniversary celebration of his family’s nightclub, Ricky finally confronts Abuela. To his surprise, Samara shows up, and the two dance, bringing the whole club together to celebrate their love.
