Widowhood has left the ground underneath Marian shaky, so she reaches out to her daughter, Paula, the one who left the fold of the Midwest. Wanting desperately not to be swayed by her upbringing and prejudices, Marian tries to embrace the city and Paula's surroundings. But she can't for the life of her overcome the seemingly malevolent presence of the Satan's Disciples Motorcycle Club housed just across the street from her daughter's apartment. Marian begins to spin a fantasy about the Disciples, what they do inside their foreboding building, who they really are. Eventually, her fantasy spills over into reality and goes a little out of control. MY MOTHER DREAMS THE SATAN'S DISCIPLES IN NEW YORK is a story about mourning the loss of a loved one and coming to terms with life as it inexorably changes.
