Ken, a Japanese-American schoolteacher, prepares a special treat called “mochi” for his elementary students as a reward for good behavior and learning their Japanese lessons. However, when Ken tries to pass out the treats, he discovers them stolen. He suspects that the class bully is responsible, but he can’t find a way to prove it. His students are dead set on punishing the culprit, and their accusations turn vicious. Ken faces a difficult question - can rules be broken in the name of justice?
