Synopsis
An original screenplay about a sculptor, his model and his alcoholic wife. Jacob Donner has led a double life for many years, denying the realities of his failed marriage and trying to find some meaning in life through his art. He convinces Maya, a beautiful waitress at his neighborhood cafe, to model for a new sculpture of the Hindu goddess of illusion which he is sure will be his great masterpiece. His wife Virginia, a one-time singer now disintegrating into the shadows of alcohol and madness, spends her days alone battling voices, convinced of Jacob's infidelity. The time comes inevitably when Jacob's illusions are shattered and Virginia's are revealed. She attacks his studio–out of desperation–and Jacob finally sees what has become of the woman he once loved and now ignores; in doing so he, helps her take the first step to recovery .
