Czechoslovakia, 1971. A Slovakian woman named Magdalena cannot shake the demons of her horrific past as they come back to haunt her and threaten to destroy the life she's tirelessly trying to build. We find out that she was a human experiment in Auschwitz and she continues to relive those horrid memories. Magdalena tries her very best to hold herself together, up until the very end, when her progressing Alzheimers allows her to forget her horrific past and gives her a sense of peace. A silver lining to her disease.
