Synopsis
Influenced by the propaganda he reads in the newspaper claiming that the use of marijuana turns men into raving lunatics, young Albert decides to partake in an experiment. He rounds up his friends, the two Garys (round and skinny), and Dale Brow, and meets them at the local pond. Fearful of what effect the drug mught bring on, the boys tie Dale up to a tree and test it out. Meanwhile, Dale's Pa, a violent drunk, notices hsi pipe missing. Tired of his two boys always messing with his things, he sets off to find it. Dale's older brother, Hank, is steaming mad and runs off to warn his little brother. And so it all comes together at the pond, as Dale is tied to a tree, and Mr. Brow is too drunk to realize what exactly is stuffed into his pipe. Set in rural America, 1937.
