GOLDENSTATE chronicles the life of Julia, a single mother who has just lost her home. As Julia struggles to provide for herself and her children, her twelve year-old son, Andrew, grapples with a sense of impending doom. As Julia strives to shield her daughter, Lily, from the hopelessness of their surroundings, Andrew becomes more and more wary of his mother's questionable choices. Ultimately, Julia's overpowering need to care for her children leads her into very dangerous territory.
