A coming of age comedy about 17-year old Mike who finally gets a date with the greatest girl in school only to find out that he has to break that date. The evening turns out to contain some unexpected lessons about real friendship and love, in spite of a series of shenanigans from everyone, including one of his mother's voice students who is also a female impersonator, as well as Mike's grandmother Tannie (who loves Van Halen), his backgammon-playing younger sister, and his flute-wielding grandfather.
