Alexei Sazavitch, a successful businessman and philandering husband, comes home from work one day and announces to his wife, Elena, that he is no longer going to the office but is instead going to spend the rest of his days with her. Elena promptly drops dead. Alexei has visions and dreams of his dead wife, and concludes that she is not dead, but off having an affair.
