In 1970s Los Angeles, rebellious queer teen MARGARET is kicked out of yet another foster placement. Surrendered to the state at 13, she’s been shuffled between religious group homes and neglectful foster families with no end in sight. Enter JOYCE, a mysterious social worker who promises to find Margaret a new placement by morning. As they journey across the city, tensions rise, and Margaret sabotages a potential home. With no other options, Joyce takes Margaret to her own place, where Margaret discovers that Joyce isn't who she seems—and her life may be changed forever.
