CORPORATE WARRIOR
Synopsis
CORPORATE WARRIOR examines the relationship between a Japanese woman and her pregnant American daughter-in-law whose "salaryman" husband becomes a victim of karoshi - death from overwork. Starring Yoko Sugi (a much-loved actress in Japan who is returning to the screen in this role after an absence of 20 years), Deirdre O'Connell and Clyde Kusatsu, the story delves into a variety of Japanese and American cultural issues, including divergent views of the world and the individual, as well as the differences between traditional and modern ways of dealing with life, love and death. The two women, one traditional Japanese and the other a modernized American, find a way to reach across the cultural divide and accept each other.
