CEREMONY FOR THE MIDGET
Synopsis
A woman whose inner dreams, or images no one else can grasp, create a metaphor for her real world. The Midget is a bar, one that in its time saw life and death, romance, fights, camaraderie, joy and hate, all played out in the comings and goings of a small sailor-bar on the waterfront in Florida. Only now it's closing, and with it go parts and parcels of each of those who spent time in the bar. The owners, Henry and Consilada, see it from two different perspectives. To Henry, the closing of The Midget means that on Monday he'll be laying brick somewhere instead of setting up drinks. To Consilada, a close and cherished friend is passing, and with that passing, a little part of her also dies.
