When Julia and Daren, a wealthy Los Angeles couple, can’t have a second child, they decide to look into hiring a surrogate to carry their child for them. After interviewing a slew of earnest, young women, in walks Delia, a down-to-earth truth-teller from a working class suburb. Daren isn’t convinced Delia or any surrogate is the answer to what’s missing in their life, but Julia decides Delia is the solution. Behind her husband’s back, she visits Delia at home and sets the ball rolling on a journey that’s bound to be more complicated than anyone can imagine.
