Set in the Bronx, after the end of the WWII, BRONX CHEERS tells the story of Danny, a returning veteran. Danny is welcomed back by his family, his friend Freddy, and assorted other cronies....one of whom is Logs Laganegra, a terifying bull of a man, once a World Heavyweight contender, but now reduced to throwing fights for easy money. Logs takes a somewhat irrational liking to Danny. He tries to help Danny fill his ambition to become a songwriter but his efforts only lead to disaster, due to Logs' uncontrollabble temper. BRONX CHEERS follows Danny's struggle to free himself from this unprofitable friendship and his need to assert his independence in post-war America.
