David Concepción, a journalist in Argentina, must cover the execution of a military officer and leader of a failed coup. Beyond his professional duty, David couldn't care less about the event--those military types "are all the same." This doesn't sit well with his father Roberto, the paper's editor, who demands a more impassioned rewrite. Following a fight between the two men, David quits on the story altogether. The next morning, hours after the paper has hit newsstands, he is kidnapped by the military and brought to a clandestine prison to be tortured, blamed for an article he did not write. Once a journalist prideful of his objectivity, David must now face the dire realities of his profession in 1956 Buenos Aires.
